That's a possible take on it.
Keep in mind that MRAPs are used in danger zones, like al Qaeda holdouts in northern Iraq right now, same as tanks and armored personnel carriers were used in WWII. Nobody drove cheerfully around a battlefield in an open Jeep, and people don't drive MRAPs around in the pacified areas of Iraq, either.
