In my opinion, the biggest problem with the schools today is a breakdown in discipline, and this can be traced directly to the parents, not the kids, and certainly not the staff
Yep.
For some reason by the time many kids reach the jr. high age many parents decide to become double income households. Leaving the children to fend for themselves. Enter into the equation, computers, games, X-box, cell phones, TV, MP3 players, DVD players, cars at 16, webcams, MySpace, Facebook, booze, *sex, drugs and rock-n-roll*...you name it.... becomes the priority....and the kids are wonderful at keeping ALL of this from the parents [who are pre-occupied with themselves, overworked and tired] If their kids are not *getting* into [blatant] trouble at school, reasonable grades....and are quiet and not giving any lip at the home then the kids are pretty much left to their own devices. They are raising themselves.
