re: Garrison Keillor

Why not just admit that Keillor had no idea who these people were, and what they do, and shoved his rather large foot in his mouth. A difficult process when you need to get it past a scented hankie.

We used to have a little Memorial Day parade in our town, with the high school band. No doubt that was noisy and offensive, too. No motorcycles except for a few cops, but there were Shriners on little scooters. I suspect the same would have been true of Lake Wobegon if it was a real place.

Leftists like Keillor seem comfortable with military people only in two contexts: child-killing monsters, or pathetic victims. Veterans who are strong, self-confident, secure in their principles, and don't crap little rabbit pellets like they do make them nervous at best, and generate hostility at worst.

I have no idea how Keillor got this way.
