on calling my uncles "rednecks" or other derogatory names? They served this country honorably and you have no excuse to do that. All four went in as enlisted men (voluteered, not drafted)and left after retiring as officers. Two of them were wounded and one had very serious injuries. Two of them were Rangers and another was Green Beret who served several tours in Vietnam.
I'm simply telling you what I've heard out of their mouths. They are straight up men that I admire very much, and I'll take their word for it. They're a far better source than one lone reporter who claims to be privy to every little happening in the nation 40 years ago in a pre internet age.
BTW: I have four uncles who served, but only three of them had experiences like that. Only one had an actual physical altercation. The other two were simply sneared at and heckled.
Why do you want so badly to hang on to one reporter saying it probably never happened? Many of the protesters back then were just as worthless sacks of shit as the ones today. The nameless reporter that you put all your faith in was probably one of them.
Where do you get off...
