And what's more...

...a lot my care was given to this activity by the Bush administration than the previous ones. Using 124 page documents as a guideline is a lot better than the unpoken, unwritten rulebook that President's lay down when they say, "do what it takes."

That's the real irony. The Bush administration was meticulous about playing by the rules, crossing t's and dotting i's. They were honor bound to leave a paper trail to be used to demonize them. If they were truly monsters who would do anything - why write it all down? Why make rules? Just look the other way - as is done in almost every Federal and State prison in our nation?

"He had an accident."

"Other inmates attacked him."

"He tried to commit suicide."

No good deed ever goes unpunished. Creating rules to deal with mass murdering terrorists is unprecedented. That 124 page memo is actually a tribute to the Bush Administration and their desire to obey laws. It would have been so much easier to do whatever they wanted and give no paper trails, consult no attorneys and let what goes on in prisons across the world be their guidelines.
