Wasn't rhetorical, wasn't directed at TB alone.

My post was directed at all of our conservatives who fit the description, including but not limited to TB. I regarded it as a chance at redemption, certainly chiding them a bit along the way. Protesting Presidential lying and the American practice of torture has been a long, hard fight and the truth has finally come out. And some folks were and are clearly wrong.

People don't judge other people by the problems they have, we judge by how they handle those problems.

It is no sin to be wrong. It is a measure of the character of the individual as to how they handle being wrong. If they continue to deny they are wrong, that says a lot.

TB happened to respond in the usual ways. Including the novel one. Not admitting Bush lied, not admitting the US tortured, but pointing out the efficacy of torture.

And passed up the opportunity to regain some credibility. So did the others, but they haven't been so verbal in claiming to have been right.

And if one only honors the principles which are easy, which are convenient, one doesn't have principles. Sort of like Gingrich, or Limbaugh, and the Ten Commandments, regarding them as a smorgasbord, a buffet, where they can pick and choose as suits the moment. They are unprincipled. It sometimes costs to maintain principles.
