That's the false choice, all right.
Like it or not, we are in a time when we must deficit-spend. That was true, as well, under the last administration, and things were getting worse rapidly when they left. To match up chunks of this and that to match all the spending we do is a hucksteristic approach. Only dim bulbs would fall for it, but sadly, there seem to be a lot of dim bulbs lately.
