Do I really, really have to explain why sending printed and borrowed Federal money to the states to "fix" their problems doesn't actually fix anything? That the people and businesses in that state - who pay Federal taxes - will get stuck with the debt anyway? That it just lets crooked state politicians kick the can down the road a few more feet without doing anything serious that might screw up their re-election chances?
