^My "pals" in washington say the same thing. THIS IS NO TIME TO CUT SPENDING.^
Yes. I know. They want more spending, and more taxes. Which is what you said I lied about.
Your pals in Washington are economically insane. If government spending was all it took to create prosperity, nations where the government runs everything would be the richest ones on Earth.
The government HAS NO MONEY. In fact, they have far, far less than no money. They have to take it away from the private sector, borrow it from our kids and the Chinese, or print it out of nothing. All of these things done to the extent we're doing them wreck an economy no matter what wonderful things you spend that money on. You can create useless jobs that nobody else will touch, and subsidize the consumers at the expense of those you say you're trying to help. It isn't going to create real growth. I remember when the government used to borrow money in emergencies and then pay it back. Long before I was born, unfortunately.
If you start borrowing money for your everyday expenses on a permanent basis in real life, you're dead.
^Republicans have this idiotic concept that we need to slash government employment to boost employment. When the economy is strong that's the time to cut spending, not while they economy is still fragile and showing signs of recovery.^
We need to slash money drains to help create money producers. That will include a hell of a lot of jobs that nobody really needs done - jobs that were probably originated as political handouts in the first place. Politicians of all stripes have been doing that for generations.
Try to get past the idea that jobs are a driver in an economy, not a result. The government could go another thirty trillion dollars in the hole and give all of us $100,000 in return for painting our curbs in front of our house. Will that work? Why or why not?
And not to put too fine a point on it, when times are good Democrats just want to increase government spending even more. So do too damn many Republicans, who are anything but blameless in this monstrous bloat.
^As for the projected deficits, they were projected exactly the same before Obama even took office.^
This is the January 2009 CBO projection. The largest projected deficit between the time this was written and 2019 is $703 billion for 2010.
This is the latest CBO analysis of the most current Obama budget. Compare Table 1 to the previous analysis, especially the effect of Obama's recent budget proposals on the CBO baseline.
Any questions? Dammit, you had to know this was the case when you wrote that, and you had to know I'd call you on it. Why??
^Can we remember for 5 seconds what a shit storm Obama inherited??^
Nobody is impressed by someone who "inherits" a leaking boat and tries to fix it by blowing a six foot hole in the hull.
I'm sorry if this pisses you off again. The fury you're feeling is an intelligent mind refusing to swallow any more dogshit. The problem is you keep yelling at the cat.
