The point of reason
"Why should we persist in actions that do not stand to reason?"
The point of reason is to take the facts, apply some logic, and arrive at conclusion. In this case I don't think we have all the facts but if you feel you do, then it's easy to see how you came to the conclusions you have.
"We already have this responsibility, and some attack from N. Korea is likely in any event."
An attack from NK would be a good thing when considering the alternative of a pre-emptive strike bringing war to the South Koreans. Our course of action would be clear.
It would be nice to wait around for Saddam to attack- but not when we are a target.
