Re: No evidence? what is the point of Sadam's Secret WMD Programs?

"Why keep them secret if he's not planning on using them."

Ahh, and our secret weapons programs, the chinese, the russians- they will be used necessarily because they are secret?

"He certainly isn't developing WMD as a deterant. And he is continuing the programs in defiance of the terms of surrender at the end of the Gulf War. "

Yes he is, and he is a very bad guy. But the bush administration (under the Sept. 2002 National Security Policy aka 'bush doctrine') wants us to buy this war on the basis that there is a clear and present danger posed by Iraq. Being hostile to the US and developing/holding WMD (even in violation of nonproliferation or international law) is what about half a dozen countries are doing, all of whom have much more legitimate (ie REAL) ties to international terrorism.

So is the truth that any WMD holder who is hostile to us is a clear and present danger? Or is it true that the Bush administration is employing flase pretense for this war, and manipulating public sentiment in the wake of a national tragedy?

"So apparently international law will be broken and enforced at the same time!"

You can't claim to be enforcing international law when the international community is against your action. The COALITION was cosigniatures of the terms of surrender and all but 2 COALITION members are against our actions.

It is not clear that the US is violating international law, that was never a claim of mine.

Do you want to argue with me or past me?
