Why is a jury tainted if they have heard about a case through the press?
I've always wondered, how did they find a fair jury in colonial times when everybody pretty much knew everybody in town...
Why do we assume that haveing heard of a case in the press immediatly makes a potential juror "Corrupted" and thus unable to find the "Truth" and administer "Justice".
I've always been bothered by this concept: The best way to get out of jury duty is to stay on top of current events...
