Yes! THAT'S the kind of response I was looking for

I may actually be able to highlight some points where we agree here.

First, I'm not of such an extreme Right Wing position that I'm not willing to concede that there are times when it's hard to say, "No abortion, EVER."

Cases of rape, incest, or when the mother's life is threatened are a little harder to argue against. I'm just against using it as a form of birth control.

I do have a good friend who is 100% No abortion, EVER. But you've got to factor in his personal history. He and his wife had a daughter that was born extremely premature, and I mean EXTREMELY premature. They had to fight tooth and nail to keep her alive. Fortunately, she survived. But she was born at a stage in the pregnancy that was so early, she would have still been able to be aborted under current law. So, you surely can imagine why someone like him, who went through the hell he went through to keep his daughter alive, wouldn't think it's right to snuff out a similar child.

I am also in favor of laws that allow a mother to abandon a baby at a safe place like a hospital, police station, fire station, ect. It's much better than leaving them to freeze to death in a parking lot, just a few hundred feet from the front door of a hospital, which I have personally covered. In a way, it's kind of like a "quickie" way of giving the child up for adoption, which I am strongly in favor of.

I also have no opposition to laws that are tougher on deadbeat dads. I can't stand a lack of accountability, and that's exactly what they amount to.

I don't think that the average right-to-lifer's beliefs ever intend to be insulting. Most of the time their position is rooted in religious beliefs that aborting an unborn child is equal to murder.

All of us would agree that murder isn't acceptable. We just disagree on who is or isn't susceptible to murder.

If these folks honestly believe that abortion is murder, which I really believe they do, then it's kinda hard to be critical of them for not wanting it to exist in a society that they live in.
