First of all, rereading that sentence, it would have sounded better if I had worded it, "whose vote counts more to the politician."
You mention that large middle class. The liberal myth is that somehow this class is getting benefits from their programs, but somehow never pays anything for it. That most middle class people actually believe this is why the Democrats do as well as they do. The hard truth is that, while I used the word "millionaire" in my example, you don't have to be very rich to qualify as the "deep pockets" in our country.
The income floor for the top 50 percent of income in this country is about $28,000 a year. The income floor for the top 5 percent is about $128,000 a year. This top 5 percent pays about 56 percent of all the taxes. These are the "rich" that the Democrats say we can kill and eat to get our goodies.
I don't want to leave you with the impression that the "receiving end" of the largesse pipe is all poor people, either.
And I also want to clarify that I am not including in the category of "wealth redistribution" people who get government money for doing an actual job, like Federal employees in many categories.
That being said though, IMO many of these jobs are either unnecessary, or could be done just as well or better by the private sector.
