Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jackson.
This country was founded by religious people expressing themselves.
It has been led from the beginning by religious people and will continue to be so for the forseeable future.
What the democrats object to is that conservative religious people are seeking a place in the public square and are not staying in the backwoods where the liberals want them to stay.
As to creationism, I and other conservatives I know regularly attack it when ever the topic is raised. It is not scientific enough to be called 'fringe'.
Now as to religion in the pubic square, I believe that religious expression has been censored very unconstitutionally for a long time in this country.
I believe that people who wish to express themselves religiously in public should be as free to do so as anyone else expressing anything else. That is not the case in America today.
