my point exactly

Virtually all your posts are about all the scary things the liberals will do if elected. Virtually nothing is about what the Republicans should do except to criticise them economically and praise them in Iraq.

When you take away all the criticism of the other side what's left of modern Republicanism? They have no economic integrity any more, Bush sold that down the river to pay off his contributors and add that to the deficit.

They have no environmental policy, all they can do is claim tree huggers have gone too far. They've lost the vision thing.

Normally policy comes from a compromise of the two wings of a party, For example in the Democrats you have the Wellstone style bleeding hearts and the DLC style conservatives. Clinton made a fair job of balancing the needs of the poor with fiscal conservatism.

The two wings of the Republicans are libertarians as theory and the kind of Buchanan style pragmatism, which should lead to a compromise in between those two extremes. Unfortunately though they have both more or less left the party and criticise virtually everything it does now. All that seems to be left is corruption, paying off contributors, saying whatever it takes to get elected and then breaking those promises, and the quasi aristocratic reign of the Bushes.

Try and post the next ten times and only say what the Republican party should be doing and don't mention the Democrats. You can't, there's nothing to say about them any more except Iraq. The Democrats basically agree there in what's to be done for the future anyway.

A party can't survive ideologically only by rubbishing its opposite.
