Of course I'm having too much fun to mind this. Watching first Dean being annointed, then Kerry and now Edwards looks like he might be next. That crown is getting so many hand prints on it it's already rubbed off it's gold spray paint. And now the spectre of Nader (Whom Hillary stated she wanted to kill last time around as the election returns were coming in) rises gloriously on the horizon and promises to turn defeat into decimation.
I guess I'm still nonplussed about the blatant prejudice exhibited towards owners of SUVs as well. I was laughing so hard reading the responses to my remark -I could barely continue reading. Wasn't the left supposed to be the tolerant, reasonable folks who don't believe in stereotyping? A simple utility vehicle has become the transportation antichrist!
What's next? Is there a particular brand of clothing that symbolizes waste and extravagance? (well besides furs of course which are statistically nonexistent on the backs of the masses) Should we hiss and scowl if someone approaches in a Land's End shirt? What about Donna Karan? Surely her clothes represent extravagance on the backs of the proletariat! Oh, but she's a liberal - that wouldn't work. Hmm-m-m. I've got it! Diamonds! Diamonds are evil! Not only are they signs of wasteful extravagance and exploitation but they are also the symbol of heterosexual marriage unions! How can an item be more evil!
