I'm very serious.

Size does matter. You're right. All my cars are large cars. The gas companies love me and the insurance companies applaud my selections with lower rates.

Most of my vehicles are owned outright and I have no intention of trading them or throwing them away - no matter how many folks here may feel I am a "clown" or am committing some "crime against humanity" nor engaging in "conspicuous consumption".

I have an SUV, a Suburban, and it gets used to haul the family and friends from place to place. Out here in the Arizona desert it is one out of about a million just like it. I have absolutely no regrets and it has been very useful out here. I don't run anyone off the road, I don't tailgate and I'm not buzzing along at 90 in the fast lane.

Dual air conditioning in a big vehicle is not an option when it's 120 degrees outside. Power to run is necessary over the long distances. I know all about conspicuous consumption. Conspicuous consumption is a Lamborghina Diablo getting 4mpg as it idles in traffic. And I have no problem with that either. That Lamborghini owner has PAID for his gas. IT'S HIS - HE CAN DO WITH IT WHAT HE DAMN WELL PLEASES. That's the way our system works. You can buy gasoline and use it to fuel your vehicles! Me crying about it or living in the illusion that he is destroying the planet would really just be the manifestation of massive jealousy and/or inferiority complexes. Fortunately, I don't suffer under either and am very happy for the Lamborghini owner and any Maybach owners out there.

False conservation.

That's what liberals are engaged in and they don't even know it!

We have this little law called the conservation of energy. It states that no energy is ever lost and that energy keeps changing its form. Oil, gasoline, water - conserving these things is ridiculous because they aren't going anywhere. The earth gains matter from space - it's in a plus proposition. Sure we can pollute our atmosphere but a volcano eruption or Saddam setting his oil fires puts more pollution in the air than do all the cars in California over a month's time.

And where does the pollution go? It gets filtered out of the air by the oceans. It drops as sediment to be compacted under the pressure of the sea. The oil gets dumped back into the ground to sink again.

Sometimes you'd think liberals think that the sky is like a bowl and its just getting more and more filled with muck that will never come down again. That's a misconception. The ozone hole filled in unexpectedly fast despite the flood of SUV vehicles all over North America.

False conservation is done out of guilt or fear (or both) and always with ignorance. Conserving water does nothing of the kind. All water flushed, or hosed or used to wash the car goes right back into the ecosystem.

By "conserving" water you only comfort the lazy-a--ed water companies and municipalities who don't want to spend capital on building desalinization facilities or pay for water from areas that are drowning in it.

Environmentalists are, sadly, clueless. They are not well versed in the science of the environment nor are they capable of being rational about all these things that they have been indoctrinated to hate by the leftist empire of brainwashers.

Cars are top on that list. Sure... we'll do away with the ambulances and fire engines. Let's ground the planes and go back into the dark ages so that some braindead liberals feel better about themselves. BS! We'll hand out one bicycle per household (same sex couples included!)and hoist the red flag.

We're not going to turn back the clock on progress so that some third world hellhole can take the US' place.

Sadly liberals are so comfortable and jaded that they don't realize just how important the car, airplanes, ships and transportation really is to society. The bigrigs that bring goods from all over the world to your local market are as necessary as the people who travel from point A to B to live their lives, go to work and build an ever more advanced culture. The freedom to choose a vehicle is as fundamental as the right to choose your clothes and your home. Start messing with it and you're heading to commieland quickly. Sadly, the commies are clearly already here.

Reading the posts here today has been a real eye-opener. They've also recommitted me to thwart the liberal agenda whenever possible - because I see many folks here are certainly out to take away my rights and are seeing the world through embittered leftist lenses. Perhaps some folks are hermits here and don't need cars..perhaps they live in godforsaken little villages and tiny towns where they can get from place to place on a bicycle built for two.or perhaps they just hate their SUV driving neighbors - I don't know exactly what the cause of their delusions are - but speaking for those in the real world where walking and bikeriding just don't cut it - you all* are scaring the heck out of me.

And no, I'm not sorry for being harsh.
