re: No toys for adults

Unless one of the parents also has to do considerable off-road driving, or is in a business like carpentry that requires a lot of cargo space, two big vehicles can't be considered a necessity.

Mom has a Suburban for hauling the kids, friends, relatives and whole family general use.

Dad has a 500 HP Dodge pickup for pulling the travel trailer, boat, snowmobiles, jet skies, etc., and the truck bed is used for sporting events like hunting where you wouldn't want to dirty the family vehicle.

Dad is tired of driving the pickup with camper shell in congested commuter stop and go traffic and in the city streets and is limited to uncovered parking so he buys a new Viper.

Mom is tired of the Suburban when there's no passangers and buys a C5 Corvette for around town with her girlfriend.

We are trying to penalize people for trying to make themselves comfortable and happy.

No matter which vehicle mom or dad drives there both gas guzzlers. We can't tell people what to drive. The people can tell the manufactories what we should be driving though.

Will we evolve to, luxury is not a right and choice is black & white?

I'm always looking for that big old 18 wheeler gas tanker blaring down on me. ;-)
