You see MA from a FTL (faster than light perspective) ALL events in the material third dimensional world have already occurred. Yes I know...freaky mindbender. But once a signal gets FTL it assumes that infinite mass thing and literally encompasses time space. The best way to envision it is that our physical timeline exists on an expanding circle. Surrounding it is this FTL perimeter. So time travel is not possible from one place to another when you are in the timestream. But when you are out of the timestream and return - you can pick and choose your time and place.
Here's a quick diagram:
As you can see to a FTL signal - the past, present and future are all "Current Events!"
For all you know - you may have already witnessed half the things I have described. Many futurists are not futurists at all - they simply have been around the FTL block and know their way around the time stream.
Heck, I'd venture to say lots of the space-loving folks have already tasted the "future" and this is why they are hungry for space.*
If only I had an FFIP device handy...

*naturally the FTL traveler is simultaneously traversing parallel universes when he decides to go backwards from one of his present time-reference points. When he moves forward again he/she can recapture or return to one of the universes they've already been in. ;-)
And nothing can be worse than going from an advanced technocratic point in history back to a primitive timezone where nothing is known, and the technology is using "stone knives and bearskins." That's when you probably really miss some of the things one took for granted. ;-)
