Big tyrannies and little tyrannies

Mary Anne — 11/25/2004 2:19:31 AM (archived)

Big tyrannies are tyrannical nations. They're easy to spot.

Little tyrannies are tyrannies that exist inside of other entities. Corrupt local governments can be tyrannies. Broadbased discrimination against a specific group, creating an underclass that is enforced with terror and brutality, is tyranny too.

Use the narrow definition of the tyrannical nation if you like. It doesn't change anything.
