Not an office engineer. I'm the guy that fixes the problems the office engineers overlook and sorts through the conflicting stories of the guys in the field to find the real causes of problems by using computers for data analysis and observation in the field.

Your approach is actually more akin to the office engineer that slaps a previously designed and tested piece of equipment into a different application without paying attention to the differences.
