I can agree with you on one issue.

And maybe more serious enforcement of laws that punish the employers of illegal immigrants, complete with massive seizure of assets. Since they are, after all, in it for the money, they should be made paupers for their transgressions, don't you think? Right now, the people who take the brunt of the punishment are those who come here looking for work, not the people who offer them the low-wage jobs that attract them.

Throw the book at them. The quest for dirt cheap labor will have the same disastrous results for this country as the quest for free labor did a few centuries ago. Why can't people seem to learn?
