No, no, you're making the cardinal mistake of treating all labor as interchangeable, and the labor market as monolithic. That's wildly inaccurate.
A less simplistic model would recognize strata and economic regions in the labor market. Effects like an influx illegal immigrants have the greatest impact on the lowest pay strata, and the effect diminishes to nothing the farther you go up the system. You stretched the point beyond absurdity when you claimed that erosion of the lowest-paying jobs due to illegal immigrants was causing CEOs to have to compete harder for, presumably, lower-paying jobs. Gimme a break, you know that the ratio of CEO-to-worker pay has exploded by a factor of ten in the last few decades. Do you say stuff like that just to get a reaction?
There doesn't have to be only one explanation for American job losses, and if you stop thinking of the labor pool as a monolithic, rigid structure, it's easy enough to allow that the loss of managerial and professional jobs doesn't have to be due to illegal immigration. You can hardly deny the reality of the massive loss of decent middle-class American jobs as (nominally) American corporations move those jobs overseas. Even the Bush Administration doesn't try to deny that, they just keep trying to put a happy face on it by babbling nonsense like "creative destruction". They evidently haven't thought of trying to blame illegal immigration--you should send email to the White House and clue 'em in. That's some right fine spin you've got going there.
You drifted dangerously close to reality when you talked about the race to the bottom as companies compete to shed workers and cut wages. But you're seriously mistaken if you think that the effects will ripple up and hurt the executive and investor level. They're the ones who decide to cut labor costs in order to protect themselves. These are the people who get richer by laying off Americans and exporting their jobs to where labor is more profitable.
That's the big picture, SDAI-Tech1. It's not a pretty picture, but it's an accurate one.
