Thanks Lindy

..at least you took the time to address what was written.

The world is rapidly evolving place. Technology is the great equalizer in terms of power, but when handled by the ignorant only becomes the power of destruction. The US is not just waging a war on terror it is waging a planet-wide battle for the future of the earth.

The religions of many when given unlimited power and hordes of believers are not conducive to peace. We are not engaged in a religious war yet, but we are already witnessing religious skirmishes and attacks throughout the world.

Democracy and freedom are NOT for everyone. Democracy and freedom were fine for the USA, because we had a common denominator of folks who could be counted upon not to abuse such freedom and democracy.

In places where martyrdom is encouraged by idiot-parents based upon an idiot-religion and humanity is still in a more elemental form - these places need more authoritarian rule.

The US cannot rule the world, nor does it want to. But as one of the most intelligent nations, we have a responsibility to preserve our own way of life and try to create a school out of the world.

Yes, the US is the model nation others can aspire to have someday. But they must earn it. It can't be given to them. We are learning how ignorance & religion combats freedom at every turn. Once these peoples realize it as well they will morph away from universal obedience based upon abject fear and utter ignorance.

Many will die early. Many will seemingly die needlessly. Many will die young.

However in many of these nations violence is their primary form of communication. They have been killing each other like animals for thousands of years. Western type thought and morality are still hundreds of years in the future for most of these residents.

It may seem aloof and conceited to view people in parts of the world as savages or kindergarten children - but that is precisely what they are.

One of man's biggest mistakes is assuming folks think just like him. The reality is there are giant disparities in man's thought-and always will be.

A civilized nation seeks the means to educate the children and savages of the world.

The left seeks peace and food, shelter and medicines for the world. However, peace can't come to regions where ignorance reigns. Medicines and food only multiply the ignorant and exacerbate the suffering. Humanitarian missions to some regions are actually only magnifying the suffering by prolonging lives that are far worse than miserable.

Education will not be easy. Religions need to be reformed and Mosques, temples and other religious centers need to be used to educate, and not jus brainwash, the masses.

It won't be easy. It won't be quick. But if the spread of technology accelerates far past the level of intellectual development of a region, we will see far worse wars, devastation and suffering.

I'm not worried about the left in America. They pose no threat. Their learning curve will be short. Same with the religious right - they are receiving an education in the dangers of religion and conformity. Their leaders are nervous - worrying that the sheep may indeed wake up and see a sullied mirror reflection of themselves when they see the violence done by those obediently and mindlessly listening to their religious leaders.

No, my focus is now upon how to introduce successful educational reform into ancient and decaying cultures.

Just as Akhenaten turned over the statues and alienated the priests of the temples in Egypt- only to find himself with a country filled with folks who knew of nothing else than their parade of gods, worshipping nature and fear of the unknown, and later poisoned by the same priests and their followers- so too must the US tread carefully in morphing these more primitive cultures. Iraq can not be the US overnight. Our constitution and declaration of independence are offensive to minds steeped in barbaric religious rhetoric and writings. And while force can overthrow a government - it can't educate its ignorant citizenry.

Iraq is not Vietnam. We couldn't save the South Vietnamese from communism, because we didn't want to risk a nuclear world war.

Iraq has to be one of the most backwards nations the US could ever hope to bring democracy or western thinking. Illiteracy hovers around 60% and near 80% for women. Religious fanaticism suppressed only by ruthless and massive violence, finds the US a paper tiger - a nation that feels guilty about killing. The fanatics feel no guilt and their leaders exploit the left back home in the US, who feel the most guilt.

If anything, Iraq is a great learning experience for the US. It will provide ample examples of conflicts, religious roadblacks and cultural detours which hamper nation-building, in the wake of an ousted government.

All things have good sides. Let's hope we can use the Iraq experience to pave a smoother path for global educational reform as the 21st century progresses.
