As I pointed out, I didn't say every nation was a cesspool. As for being the child of immigrants, that's only half true, only my mother is German. My Father is fifth generation American. That affords me some unique insights into those who have obeyed the law and immigrated legally, waited in lines, fought bureaucracy, LEARNED ENGLISH, paid fees, waited some more and paid more fees, carried green cards, took photos, visited embassies, paid yet more fees, etcetera.
Than there are those who simply break the law and sneak over.
Does anything special make Germany immune from cesspool characterization?
"By their fruits shall they be known" is a good adage to apply to immigrants and their contributions. And again, look at the nation they are emerging from.
I know two hard working Germans who run a deli here. The conditions of their stay in the US is that they "provide some unique service native to their land". In other words, they have to do something "German" for their employment or they can be deported. They paid the fees, waited YEARS to get here and live their dream.
Then I see the hordes cross the border freely and do whatever they please and our government looks the other way - not only that - but now after breaking our laws, disrespecting our nation and all those who legally emigrate, some folks think this should be rewarded with a work program and US citizenship!
It's a farce. It's morally reprehensible.
Fox, Tony, MA, Robert are on the wrong side of this issue and, if you agree with them, you are too.
Compassion is not feel-goodism that hurts or deprives others. That's not compassion at all - just playing favorites. The folks mentioned above basically are saying that illegal foreigners have more rights than our citizens do - and those who obey our laws to become legal citizens.
It's ignorance such as that, based upon the whole leftist guilt culture and its antecedent of psychological hang-ups, that causes only more suffering. I suspect none of the above were ever told stories when they were children, particularly the one about the man and the fisherman.
