You don't really want to know.

Ever since you messed up your foot you've been even more of a pain than usual. Perhaps it's because you, and everyone on the far left here sense the election's slipping away - yet again.

Bush's poll numbers are up. Folks are abandoning the poor wretches left in the Democratic party in droves and following the independent drumbeat.

The far left scream louder and throws more feces at the board like a bunch of hyperactive monkeys.

You want empathy? You want me to transpose with an Iraqi grandfather?

Sure. Can do.

The truth is in Iraq, Saddam killed kids all the time. Having lived through Saddam's reign I saw lots of kids dragged off or end up dead because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time or had parents who opposed Saddam. Everyone knew his sons would gather girls off the streets and no one would ever see them again. It's terrible to see that with Saddam gone, this stuff still happens. It's frustrating to always be on the receiving end of the stick. Apparently it's God's will.

I wonder, is it because we were not living under Sharia, that God punished her?

I just don't know. God must've had a reason. I must've done something bad. Perhaps had I forced her to go around in a burkha none of this would have occurred. Or perhaps she did something to bring god's wrath down upon her. Did she in some way dishonor our family? I just don't know.

Allah Akhbar!

Allah Akhbar!

If you were looking for western outrage - you just wont find it. You can't have it both ways Bowser. You don't shed a tear if a jew dies and then shed crocodile tears for every muslim death. Death over there is not quite viewed as it is in the west, because they see and experience so much and view it through a unique Islamic rose-colored lens.

Meanwhile, your world of moral equivalence is messed up. You and others here search the news for anything terrible and rejoice in the sense of validation it gives you.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty sick. But I understand it. It's an escape mechanism.
When life doesn't go as we would like, we turn and point the finger at others and then release the negative tension via an escape mechanism.

Everyone has them. Alcaray plays games, Lindy's heading to the boonies of NC, Roberts reading about primates, Publius is polishing his Sig-Sauer and placing it carefully back in its display case and then pouring a drink and enjoying the view. And all of you enjoy pointing at "neo-cons" and Bush as the bringer of all that's evil into the world and making the world such a bad place.

Posting here is Tom's escape mechanism of choice and others here use the HZ in this manner as well. There's a jillion types of escape mechanisms. I'll go off on a verbose psychological analysis like this one to release the frustration engendered by reading posts and watching behavior like yours.

That's the nature of humanity at this time and place.

You don't want empathy you want to rant and rave. That's fine.

Just try to be aware of what you're doing and it will help push away those inner demons.
