In Anbar, all but six of 31 tribes have declared war on Al Qaeda and support of the government.
Iraqis as a whole have a 94 percent unfavorable view of al Qaeda, which dwarfs any negative view they have toward America. This includes Sunnis, at 77 percent unfavorable.
Most of the progress we do make on weeding out insurgents and terrorists is from local information, given to the Iraqi government and coalition under conditions where the informant's life is at risk.
