It is hard to say.

Obviously, what we did and how we did it has not worked out as well as we wish.

I suspect that our investment of troops and treasure were maxed so, logically, with hindsight, it should not have been done.

If more troops and money were possible and would have resulted in successful pacification, the war would have been justifiable but since success was the only option, lack of foresight is not a valid excuse. Foreseeing all possibile outcomes was an absolute requirement.

My only certainty is that team GWB has mucked it up.

Hence:
