If the democrats win everything in november, can the president be forced to have a democrat government?
If not, they can't blame the democrats for anything that will happen
till 2009.
It happened in France in 1986: Mitterrand (socialist) was president; there are elections, the conservatives won and Chirac became prime minister. 2 years later, the socialists won again and Mitterrand was again president, this time with a socialist prime minister.
The American people would never have supported an invasion of a foreign nation which posed no direct threat, simply for economic or geopolitical reasons.
But what were the reasons, actually ? From what I see from abroad, too many americans keep swallowing and believing anything their president says, especially if there is criticism from abroad. He got re-elected after he started the war.
