ER, you KNOW we've been conned.
We just hate to admit it.
Remember Cheney's "energy meetings" before Christmas? The list we couldn't even view? How do we know there wasn't an agreement of some type of put options on foreign oil and the support from his corporate base? After all, Haliburton and Brown & Root are re-building Iraq. I think it was a gamble. A business venture using the legitamcy of the Oval Office riding the patriotic fervor after 9/11.
It didn't HAVE to have much of a plan. Because the Devil was in the details. Secure the oil (energy). Secure the contracts (rebuilding). Provide security (US ARMY) courtesy of the taxpayers.
Bingo. Done deal.
