I'm sorry if I snapped a bit too. Things have been a bit testy lately.

But I find absolutely no evidence of any profound scientific insight in Genesis. Why can't we just have a writer or writers (probably editor/scribes transcribing oral traditions during the Babylonian Captivity) who were talented writers and who composed beautiful prose. It may have been the Bronze Age, but these people were just as smart (but probably no smarter) than we are.

Many writers have dissected Homer as well, coming up with detailed interpretations of the Odyssey, for example, which claim to reconstruct Odysseus's voyages in great detail. One is even set in the Baltic! All of these reconstructions sound very convincing, but none agree with each other. They can't all be right, but they could certainly all be wrong.

If anyone claims that clues to relativity can be found in the Bible, I would certainly hope that the claimant can at least demonstrate competence in both physics and ancient Hebrew, as well as credentials in Middle Eastern archaeology.
