I don't really want to knock the KISS philosophy, but IMHO complex problems just don't yield to simple solutions. Complex problems usually require multi-faceted solutions. This is precisely the approach Rorty uses in his neo-pragmatism approach. I know it lacks the absolutism you so adore from Ayn Rand, but you really might enjoy the read and the reach to practical applications.
