You misread me. SDAI got it right.

It isn't the guy showing up at the soup kitchen that's after everyone's wealth from Bill Gates on down to the middle class. The poor guy is just after some soup. It isn't the old woman trying to get by on Social Security either. She just doesn't want the checks to stop. It isn't the single mother trying to raise three kids and hold down a job. She doesn't have time for politics.

It's the political thug, usually plenty rich himself (and keeping most of it), who hauls forward the guy at the soup kitchen and all the rest in order to advance his own political power agenda. It's the socialists in Washington that demand my wealth by force, not the poor themselves. The number of poor who desperately turn to looting and robbery to feed their families is a fractional percentage of all of them. Wish that were true of politicians.

Conservatives, for the most part, believe that help for the poor starts with themselves and their own efforts, not with looking around to find some rich person to loot on their behalf.

You ever notice how few major socialist activists are poor? How many liberal millionaires and movie stars scream about how wealth is unfairly distributed, yet somehow don't seem to reduce their own enormous bank accounts by very much on behalf of the poor?
