That was well written. Wrong, but well written.
Peace on earth and good will toward men in this upcoming season. May all those who do their service time in the soup kitchens one or two nights in December remember that they themselves would be invisible the rest of the year if they were clients of soup kitchens themselves.
MA, everyone is invisible. Rich, poor, famous. People only deal with impressions and not reality. Even here we deal with images of people, shadows and glimpses of the total individual. This is often more true for the rich and famous and the extremely poor and downtrodden who are viewed through heavily biased glasses.
Rich people, like us, must defend our right to hoard. Poor people have nothing to lose so they must want everything we have. A future. A doctor. An education. Dignity. How scary it must be to see one's self surrounded by predators who stalk that elusive prey, Opportunity.
Nicely written. But Tom isn't defending himself from the poor, he's defending himself from those who want to REPRESENT the poor. The poor don't pass legislation, the poor don't throw you in jail when you dont pay your taxes, the poor don't turn 3000 in back taxes into 35,000 after 3 years. Tom has railed endlessly about whom he is worried about - and it's the state.
The Jesse Jackson's of the world who empower themselves by pretending to speak for others. The democrats who made it their policy since the Johnson era to pretend they are the party of minorities, poor people and the aged. Large voting blocs who have one common interest - a hand out - and will vote for whomever promises them the most.
You go to church. Go ahead, I dare you: be a Christian every day.
Tom's mentioned he goes to church, but he has never said he was a Christian. For all we know he's a Scientologist.
