These climate catfights aren't about disagreements on science, they're about clashes of ideology. If climatic antagonists were isolated on their own boards they'd be denied an audience and the ability to monopolize the conversation, humiliate opponents and strut before their partisan allies. They simply would not participate in a forum where no one but themselves was listening.
Everybody is entitled to have an opinion on these issues, and to express it, and debate it with others. But not all the time. The problem comes when people who don't want to talk about it have no choice but to watch the the same show over and over. I imagine Flame and Current Events were originally set up to isolate this sort of thing, but as you can see, the brawl spills over to the other boards sooner or later.
The anomalist issues are something else. Most of us can recognize nonsense when we see it, but it makes me feel very uncomfortable to deny someone the right to speak simply because he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sure every one of us is an anomalist about something.
