"You and Mr Gbaike seem to have taken my comments as a pre-emptive strike on an alternative to CO2 warming, a mechanism you both seem desperate to preserve,..."
If you feel obligated to use Mr, you can address me as Mr Baikie- but gbaikie is my internet handle, and prefer that gbaikie without any Mr is used.
As for your claim of my apparent desperation. No one has made a case that CO2 causes warming or cooling cycles in Earth's history- this is simply a fact. Nobody makes the case that the current warming trend since the Little Ice Age was caused by CO2.
Some have claimed the increase in CO2 has increased [or significantly added to] global temperature, but that is a different issue than causing global warming [or cooling].
If all we were talking about in regards to global warming was a short period of time from around the 1970's, then yes, there are people that claim that CO2 is causing the warming in this period of time.
There of course are many problems with this idea which many people simply don't want to examine in a rational manner.
