- He was an English major, obviously creative, and his video excerpts show him reading his work on camera, demonstrating his ability. Maybe he had no other outlet for his creativity.

- He was relatively young, perhaps still driven by hormones, and lived in a co-ed dorm, where the girls obviously had nothing to do with him.

- He was kicked out of a creative writing class by a woman, for taking pictures of other women with his cell phone.

- Girls he perhaps had a crush on made complaints about his advances.

- There is no evidence that other people made any effort to befriend him. Lots of evidence now of people who think he was a loser before-the-fact.

- At universities there is often antagonism between arts students and engineering students. He was an arts student and he shot up an engineering class.

I'm reading alot of vilifying stuff in the media. Not sure I buy all of it. Opinions?
