I don't hunt either.

Lee — 4/20/2007 3:50:43 PM (archived)

I prefer watching wildlife to shooting it. The wild game flavor doesn't sit well with me either. I do enjoy target shooting and do so on occasion. I own various types of guns and each one offers different challenges as far as marksmanship. A bolt action shoots differently from a lever action, or semi-auto.

Most of my firearms have been fired fewer than 100 times. The Barrett .50 cal was an impulse buy. Its shells cost over $1 each, so it doesn't get fired on a regular basis. My favorite longarm is my Marlin 30AS 30-30 lever action. I own them primarily because they are marvels of engineering, and I enjoy collecting them. I also collect kites, old bottles, and books, among other things.
