Re: Worst Idea Ever

You believe that corporations are more corrupt and powerful than governments because you have to. It's part of the liberal catechism, to justify ever-increasing government power over the private sector. Numbers don't matter, history doesn't matter. Common sense doesn't matter. The constant spectacle of the heads of the mightiest corporations in the nation, quivering in apprehension in front of brainless Senators who can destroy them at a whim, means nothing.

To you, the mythological totalitarian rule of giant corporations, seen so far only in science fiction, is much more real than the actual history of statism.

The lowliest local government official has more power over my life than Bill Gates does. Bill Gates has to beg for my money. Does the government? I have never dealt with a corporation on any level where I couldn't tell them, at some point, to bugger off.

Maybe the concept I'm trying to get across is a square peg, and some minds are just plain round holes.

Incidentally, this is the first I heard that the First Amendment, specifically DESIGNED for political speech, applies only to individuals, not organized groups of individuals. You sure you want to go there?
