Thanks for stating it so well. I was about to see red over Rob's post until your response cooled my kitty jets (a phrase I use with my two impatient cats).

I am a patriotic American who loves this country, loves God and hopes we muddle through amid all the political vitriol, the greed and irresponsibility. And I"m left of center although not left left.

I deeply resent being included some broad sweep vilification of the ideals of the left and told I'm not patriotic because I'm a liberal. There are plenty of liberals who have died for this country in every war we've ever had. I am willing to discourse but I find on this board that the Republicans won't tolerate other views. They're way too convinced that they have all the answers. This is my country, too.
