This is getting old

Perhaps we need to have another group therapy session on Community to discuss language?

I got my third-phone in 1970, in high school. We had a big FM radio station, 5KW, biggest west of the Mississippi. That led to a short career in radio. Got my first-phone around 72 so I could be a chief engineer.

Kids are prone to blurting out foul language without thinking about it (like Ed and EP Grondine), and we were always having to file apologies with the FCC. Luckily the head of the FCC field office in San Francisco knew us and must have thought were were soooo cute.

One day two boys were in the studio, and a bunch of us were in the adjacent classroom with the audio playing on a speaker. I'll never forget the stunned silence when all of a sudden one of them starts yelling at the other, swearing like a truck driver. I was the first one to react, ran next door into the studio and slapped the mic switch off--I guess they just forgot the mike was live. I still have that on a tape somewhere.

Ahh, memories...
