We tried that do nothing approach with Europe after the first World War. It didn't work.

We tried a "Install Democracy" Approach similiar to what the Bush team is attempting in Iraq, after the Secondo World War, and whadda ya know: it worked...

Despite many "brilliant" academics, throughout the entire cold war period stating that Democracy would eventually fail in Europe, Democracy eventually won out. The domino's it turns out were proped up only by the will of the USSR. Once it failed the dominos finally fell.

All we need to do in the Middle East is get the first domino to fall and hopefully we'll have the same result.

Ah but the "Brilliant people" are all hoping for it to fail this time just as they hoped it would fail then.

Interesting isn't it?
