Believe it or not, I am a Pacifist at heart. I would love to see the human race use all the resources, money, man power and such that we put into war and use it for space exploration.

Unfortunately 911 opened my eyes to the reality that peace is not possible when there are those who just want to kill you.

Terrorists are being bred in the Middle East. Why? Because they have nothing to loose. We’ll give them something worth loosing. We’ll give them freedom. Iraq is becoming free. In Iran, young people are wanting freedom. Afghanistan is becoming free. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are free.

I might have been the ‘conservative’ you were referring to. Yes I was unemployed for 6 months. It was tough, but I have faced other hardships. I am blind in one eye thanks to some bullies, and my attempt to fight back. My wife is slowly dying from Lupus, probably the hardest hardship I have faced. I almost lost my son his first month of life. Watching him for a month and not knowing if he was going to live or not was tough, and gave me a few gray hairs. I have lost some that were close to me. I know what losses feel like. I know what it feels like to watch loved ones suffer.

I know how it feels to be 70K in debit, living from paycheck to paycheck, and wondering if you’ll be living on the street next month. I know what it is like to be out of work with a family counting on you and a baby on its way. I know what it is like to fight for your family in a horrible storm.

I am not complaining and I don’t want sympathy. There are people who have faced worse hardships than me. I just want you to know that all not all conservatives are rich and have everything given to them.

Life can be tough, but, for me anyway, when life gets tough you keep the faith, roll with the punches and keep moving forward. Be thankful for what you have and don’t cry about what you don’t have.
