Two questions

First: Regarding the practice of abstinence, which, btw, I support as a practice (though not as the sole focal point of education on the subject), have you read this article posted by Dan over on Off Topic? It would appear that abstinence is not all it's cracked up to be, as defined by its practitioners. The adults are hearing what they want to hear from the kids at the assemblies and in the newspaper articles, however...

Second: You state that rape and the health of the mother are exceptions to your position of abortion as murder. Would you please define what makes the embryo or fetus in those cases less worthy than in other cases, which may involve failed birth control, ignorance on the part of the participants, or severe financial or family stresses? Presumably the embryo or fetus in the cases cited as exceptions are just as "innocent". Why in those cases are the women more valuable, and not in the others?

Mary Anne
