Gary suggested that Andy might have...
..."melted down" (equals: came to conclusions that Gary disagreed with, I think) because he was gay. Now this can be read either of two ways:
1) Gay issues caused Andy to disagree with the Bush campaign and ultimately caused a falling out. I prefer to think that Gary had this in mind. Or,
2) Gay people tend to "melt down" (equals: I'm not sure exactly what is implied in this case.) because it is inherrent in their gayness. This would make Gary akin to the character in Mother Night who attempted to prove Jew's inferiority as a race by comparing dental records.
I think that Mary Anne assumed that he meant the latter. You guys do her a dis-service by belittling her comment.
