I caught part of it.

Seemed ok...but I wasn't real impressed with either "candidate's" vision...There was nothing new...Was that by design?

I would think the brilliant writers could create real drama by introducing some new issue to get the viewer's blood boiling! But they couldn't...At least not that I could see.

Which led to my one conclusion: Are our politicians just actors who could support whatever position is required to fit their expected mold?

Sadly, I think the answer is yes.

But if that is true, why do people seem to become so wrapped up in a particular potitician's cult of personality when those personalities are just a fiction created to woo the party faithful and enough undecided voters to win the next election.

Why do the faithful on the left believe that Bill Clinton was a great President when in reality he was only an actor. Playing a role that someone else could just have sasily played...Why do the faithful on the right get so angry when Bush is attacked...he's only an actor, and aparently not a good one according to the news media potrayal...

Ronald Reagen...He really was a good actor?

Alan Alda, played his part well. A little to cranky...But I'll give him some leway on that--On TV all Republicans seem to be potrayed as Grumpy, Cranky, and a little bit nasty and underhanded. Once he got past that, he actually could sell the "Smaller, Smarter Government" argument better than any republican I've seen on the national stage. WOW, I actually came away liking the guy!

The Democrat candidate was not inspiring to me at all, but that is to be expected...

Alda wins. 8:5 odds.
