To be honest, I've never seen the show, but not out of boycotting. I don't watch much TV.
But here's my opinion, based on what I've read about it from both left and right sources:
Conservatives read "Atlas Shrugged" to fantasize about how the world "ought to be." Liberals watch "West Wing" or "Commander in Chief."
On TV, raising the minimum wage to ten dollars an hour would result in high paying jobs for everyone and an unemployment rate at two percent. Fleeing Iraq would cause the terrorists to vanish in a puff of blue smoke, and the kites to head into the sky again. It's GOOD to be the writer.
I'm not overly confident in Robert's ability to identify Alan Alda's character as a "moderate" Republican. Usually, Democrats use this term to mean "Republicans who agree with us." Might be more interesting and accurate if a conservative actor (and yes, there are some) played the part.
Online fan sites I've skimmed say that Santos wiped the floor with Vinick.

- Anyone watch the West Wing 'debate'?
- Okay, this guy gave Alda's character a pretty good review.
- I caught part of it.
- Alan Alda will get an Emmy nom for the "live debate"
- Alan Alda playing a Republican...
- I thought he pulled it off.

- Exactly - political blackface
- If that is all you got from his performance, then that is very sad...
- Sad
- The Archie Bunker character was a simple minded bigot...
