I think that RightWingers have deprived themselves of the pleasure of seeing a good portrayal of a Republican out of nothing more than prejudice. And that's kinda sad.
If "RightWingers" don't normally watch The West Wing, how would they know when a "good" portrayal (in your opinion and that of one single right-wing blogger) was actually shown in order to be pleasantly surprised? Why not denounce atheists as prejudiced for not watching Touched By An Angel from the start, just so they could see some good portrayal of an agnostic in episode 87? Maybe Christians who don't watch South Park are prejudiced as well? And are only Republicans prejudiced if they aren't glued to the screen during The West Wing or does it also apply to independent and even Democrat non-West Wing viewers?
Face it, "prejudice" is a loaded term and shouldn't be applied to TV viewing habits. Its use by you here is more than just unfair, it's silly - and maybe reveals a subtle prejudice of your own against Republicans, who you seem to think act only out of "prejudice" if they don't watch something that appeals to you personally. Have you ever considered maybe during the pilot and first season, some right-wing viewers regularly saw what they considered to be persistent "prejudice" against Republicans or conservatives and just switched off? Who knows? You certainly won't, if you keep lobbing slurs like that around.

- Anyone watch the West Wing 'debate'?
- Okay, this guy gave Alda's character a pretty good review.
- I caught part of it.
- Alan Alda will get an Emmy nom for the "live debate"
- Alan Alda playing a Republican...
- I thought he pulled it off.
- ... is like Carroll O'Connor playing Archie Bunker
- Exactly - political blackface
- If that is all you got from his performance, then that is very sad...
- Sad
- The Archie Bunker character was a simple minded bigot...
