definition of "moderate"

I wasn't talking about actual moderates, according to the real definition, but about how someone is described as such, usually in news stories. Or it's said that they've "grown in office." Surely you must have noticed the red carpet the media rolls out for a Republican politician who adopts a Democratic position.

On the other side of the picture, as an example, I would refer to Joe Leiberman as a moderate. To the Left, he's a scumbag who's abandoned the True Faith.

By the way, "compromise" is when both sides give up something to reach a goal. Not when one side surrenders.

Define a "compromise" position on abortion acceptable to the Democratic Party leadership.
